Event Details

Passport to the Arts is an invitation to all the creative kids in NYC to explore art in a bold and unique way. Offering an unprecedented opportunity to create, learn and experience visual arts – as fun as it is intellectually stimulating! Kids acquire a world-view of the arts, while improving their artistic skills by participating in an array of visual arts classes. Each week, kids are exposed to different art movements and skills, exposing them to the elective visual vocabulary and history of the arts - from the renaissance to digital arts. Participate in all six weeks or just one - it's sure to be amazing summer for your child!

World of Art: July 2 - 13 (no class Wed July 4)

Kids embark on an art excursion, immersing them in the richness offered by cultures around the world. The artistic journey will open their minds, hearts – and hands to arts from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Europe – with a special feature on the beauty in our own backyard, the Harlem Renaissance. Kids use exotic artistic materials to create their projects, such as natural dyes.

Art-isms: July 16 - 27

Impressionism, Abstraction, Expressionism, Cubism… so many isms! Explore the radiant array of art movements that comprise the eclectic story of color, shape and the impact they make on our lives. Wander through art’s mesmerizing history, techniques and dabble in its wide range of skills, while familiarizing oneself with some of the world’s most rebel artists!

Design is Everywhere: July 30 - Aug 10

Kids learn to identify the plethora of designs surrounding them in their everyday lives and venture into experimenting with a variety of designs fields – from fashion to graphic design. Kids dream up designs fpr real-life objects and scenarios and actualize those dreams using hands-on and digital technologies.

Discounts:

Early bird discount: 5% off if all fees are paid by May 30, 2012
Sibling discount: 5% of for the second child from the same family.

Cancellations: In case of cancellation after June 1st, only 50% refund. After June 15th, only 25% refund. 

Extended day program: $10 per day/ $100 per session.

Financial Assistance

ProjectArt awards scholarships to campers based on a parent or a family’s annual income.
